Robert Harrison, founder of RWH Technology

I’m Robert Harrison, a senior iOS engineer and consultant with more than 15 years of experience building mobile products for startups, agencies, and consumer technology companies, including GoPro.

Through RWH Technology, I partner with companies that need experienced engineering leadership to help design, build, and launch production-ready mobile apps. I specialize in iOS development with Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, AVFoundation, and modern Apple platform technologies, with a strong focus on architecture, performance, reliability, and user experience.

Over the years, I’ve worked across fintech, health & fitness, media, video editing, and creator-focused products, from early-stage MVPs to large-scale consumer applications used by millions of people.

At GoPro, I worked on the macOS version of Quik, contributing to video playback, editing, export workflows, and media performance systems. That experience deepened my interest in building technically complex products that still feel fast, intuitive, and polished for end users.

I’ve also worked with startups and small teams where speed, adaptability, and ownership matter. In those environments, I often help beyond implementation, contributing to product direction, technical strategy, architecture decisions, App Store releases, and development workflows that help teams move efficiently without sacrificing quality.

In addition to consulting, I’ve also designed and published independent apps through RWH Technology. Building products from the ground up has given me firsthand experience with the full product lifecycle, from concept and UX decisions to launch, iteration, analytics, and long-term maintenance.

That perspective helps me work effectively with startups and product-focused teams because I understand both the engineering challenges and the realities of shipping and growing software.

Outside of Work

I graduated from the University of Regina with a B.Sc. in Computer Science and a M.A.Sc. in Electronic Systems Engineering.

I’m based in San Diego, California, where I live with my wife and our two Boston Terriers. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me stand-up paddle boarding, hiking, skiing, or cooking something new at home.

I’m passionate about health, fitness, technology, and creative problem solving, and I enjoy building products that are both technically strong and genuinely useful to the people who use them.

Whether I’m joining an existing team or helping launch something new, the goal is the same: build reliable software that ships, and that teams can keep building on.
